A decade ago, Pinoys traveled abroad to see their foreign idols perform. They spent thousands of pesos for a night or two of happiness as they jumped in joy and screamed a name they couldn't pronounce well the first time. We would memorize a song in a language we barely know and practice a dance choreography that originated in a place we have never been to. But now, the tables have turned. Foreigners are practicing our dance choreographies, learning our language just so they can sing and understand the songs our artists produced, travel to the country to watch our artists perform, and that is thanks to the bravery of SB19 to dream big and work hard for it.
Despite all the hardships they had to endure, Mahalima remained true to their advocacy of bringing the OPM to the international scene. While it is true that they still have a long way to go, they've already accomplished so much in just half a decade. Along the way, here are some of the OPM legends and famous artists who praised and recognized SB19's talent and artistry. One of the most recent ones is during their Pagtatag Finale concert. During the solo performances of the group's members, Stell sang Anino, reportedly written by Pablo, with the Maestro Louie Ocampo on the piano. His rendition was emotional and heartfelt, and everyone in the concert felt the song's punch.

The smile and clap of approval and appreciation from one of the pillars of OPM made Stell's Berries emotional. Speaking of pillars of OPM, let us not forget Stell's elegant yet emotional rendition of Sometimes, Somewhere during Mr. Ryan Cayabyab's Gen C concert. The applause he received from Mr. C himself and all the casual fans who attended the birthday concert was another testament to Stell's vocal prowess.

During SB19's WYAT Homecoming Concert, The Songbird, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid was one of their guest performers. What she said had been engraved in A'tin's mind, and it truly made our boys happy and proud of themselves. From the words of the legendary singer, OPM legends are so glad and proud that the boys are bringing Filipino music to the world, and they have what it takes to do it. She even thanked A'tin for supporting Mahalima throughout their journey. Mr. C also expressed his admiration for the boys and their training because it provided them with much-needed skills and discipline.
Another OPM legend who recognized SB19's artistry was Vehnee Saturno. He even admitted he tried to reach out because he was interested in a collaboration. Mr. Pure Energy admitted he wished he had written Gento, which was such a great song. Another legendary artist who praised the five was Gloc-9. According to him, they already had reasons to brag, but they didn't, and for him, it was a commendable trait for an artist or group of artists. There's another OPM legend, a singer-songwriter, Ogie Alcasid, who praised SB19 and other artists. During an interview with PhilStar, he said that SB19 is a group we could be proud of and that it would be advantageous to study them.
These are only some of the legendary artists who have praised SB19 for their talent and character, and you can bet that as time goes by, more and more will come out. So, A'tin, buckle up and just enjoy the ride.
