Josh Cullen, also known as Josh of SB19, is the best example of rags to riches. His life story embodies conquering the impossible and achieving greatness through sheer force of will.

Born Josh Cullen Santos on October 22, 1993, he is the younger sibling, yet he became the man of the house at a very young age. When he was little, they had a good life and could afford things that others couldn't, but their lives took a turn for the worse. As their financial status dwindled, their situation got worse and worse. Even before that, Josh had already experienced the world's cruelty at such a young age.
A person entrusted to take care of him and his older sister physically abused them for as long as he could remember. Even though justice was served, the horrors those two little angels experienced were already engraved in their minds. No child should ever have to go through what they endured. With not enough formal education, Josh could have quickly taken the wrong path. Growing up, his heart was only filled with negative feelings towards life and the world. Instead, he helped himself, taught himself the essentials to survive, and started working at sixteen.
Most kids at that age worry about crushes, dressing for proms, and how to ask their parents for more allowance. Josh was already living on his own and supporting himself. He had to sleep on the floor and teach himself things that normal kids would learn in school. At first, he was lucky enough to find a family who was willing to adopt him. That was until he discovered his passion and, joined dance groups, and competed.
They told him he wouldn't make it and would not be successful. In fact, many people told him to wake up from his delusions, but Josh's life shaped him differently. When others complained and gave up, he fought harder to survive. He refused to give the world the satisfaction of watching him break down. Working in the BPO industry helped him to have a better life, but his heart was yearning for something else. He kept on competing with his crew until an opportunity presented itself.
When Josh was accepted as an SBT trainee, he probably thought, this is it, but life wasn't done with him. He had to walk far to and from their office when his budget ran low. It was his routine; even his training shoes were about to give up. Josh would skip meals if his group mates didn't have food to spare. Nothing about Josh's life was easy. He had to work twice as hard because he had so much more to prove to the people around him and himself.
Luckily, he found his saving grace. A'tin and his BBQs showed Josh he was worth it and more than enough. The love he received and is still receiving to this day healed him from the wounds of the past. In turn, he has been releasing quality music and music videos as a tribute to those who have been supporting him through his journey. Josh Cullen, a dancer, the main rapper, songwriter, and producer, definitely knows no limit.
From Wild Tonight to his latest single, Sumaya, the most charismatic bias wrecker, has been giving us quality music. A proof that even when you weren't born to be good at something, as long as you consistently work hard to improve yourself, you can do great things along the way.
