PPOP Power Concert Part 1

The name of this concert perfectly fits the overall conclusion of last night's event. Each group stepped up their game and gave everything they had to prove they deserved a spot in the PPOP scene. It was also a testament that PPOP is not a competition, but a community lifting each other up. This one is for those who didn't get to attend the concert at the MOA Arena.

Let's start with how the crowd, mostly A'tin, supported each group that performed on stage. Even before the event started, some members of the fandom went to social media, asking what was the appropriate color for all the groups that would perform last night given that the fandom's official lightstick only had limited colors. They didn't want any group to feel left out or unsupported, and at the event, almost no one was a fan of just one group.

What a sight to witness a fandom that could have had a severe superiority complex due to their idols' fame leave other fandoms behind remain grounded, and show support towards all the performers of the night. From New:ld's pre-show performance when the lights inside the arena were still on, A'tin turned on their lightstick and used the color green. When Alamat began their set, the yellow ocean lit up the arena, followed by the red ocean for the Female Alphas of PPOP, G22. The purple ocean washed through the crowd when KAIA began their performance, and it was a beautiful white ocean for Hori7on.

No performance was quiet last night. Everyone cheered for all the performances, and of course, we appreciate the other fandoms who showed their respect and appreciation towards the PPOP Kings. This is SB19's greatest dream. A thriving PPOP community showcasing the artistry and talent of every Filipino artist locally and globally. It's happening now, some might say slowly, but Rome wasn't built in a day.

This is PPOP. This is what SB19 has been dreaming of, their goal since the beginning. We still have a long way to go but we're on the right path. All we need to do is to remain grounded and keep our eyes on the prize. Respect those who came before and look out for the ones who will follow the path. Not one group can lift up an entire sub-genre of music. We need unity, a community that will help each other out, not a battlefield where we pit each talent against each other.

A'tin will always support SB19's advocacy for the Philippine music industry, but the boys deserve respect, and if it can't be given to them, then our fandom will have no choice but to distance ourselves from those who would disrespect SB19. We are better friends than foes, and A'tin's love and support come from the heart; sincere and long-lasting. The fandom has already proven that for six long and emotionally exhausting years.  SB19 and A'tin will remain as one in all of SB19's goals for the music industry, and we will support their movement as much as we can, for as long we can.

I implore you to join the movement and help lift PPOP to the global stage.

For the ending performance, Alamat, G22, KAIA, Hori7on, and SB19 rocked the MOA Arena with their performance of What?, an anthemic song written by SB19's leader, Pablo. Each group showed talent and danced to the tune with the heart and grit that the song evokes. As the music progressed, the Philippine flag showed on the LED screen, as if saying this is what Filipino talent looks like. A world-class level, full of fire and passion, and something any Filipino can be proud of. These five groups showed what it meant for PPOP to rise, and they are definitely ready and able to take on the challenge. A historic event made possible by Watson.
